January 10, 2012
Falmouth, NS Austin Shaw O’Leary is pleased to announce that he has joined GoLo Racing and Dua Motorsports to pilot a Honda CBR 600RR for the 2012 season. The 15 year old Falmouth, NS ace placed a strong second in the Canadian National CBR 125R Cup Championship in 2011 after leading the standings for the majority of the series. For the second year in a row Austin won the ARL Atlantic Mini Roadracing Championship, a class for 250cc and under machines. He also grabbed a spectacular 3rd place in the ultra competitive Atlantic Thunder Championship aboard his 1999 SV 650, his first season on a machine larger than 125cc.
In 2012 Austin plans to compete in both the National Amateur Superbike and Sportbike championships, as well as the Atlantic Amateur Superbike and Sportbike championships with the backing of GoLo Racing and Dua Motorsports. 2012 marks Austin’s first outing on a 600cc Sportbike machine and he is very much looking forward to getting to know the team and learning the bike. Speaking from his home in Falmouth, NS Austin said:
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to ride with GoLo and Dua Motorsports. It’s exciting getting to ride a 600 and I am looking forward to the 2012 season. I feel privileged to get to ride for GoLo because of all the energy and excitement they bring to the track each weekend. I am looking forward to working with new people and can’t wait to take to the track for the first National in June, at Shannonville.”
Austin spends his off season studying and training, the grade 10 student maintaining strong marks in his French Immersion program. He stays in shape by riding his dirt bikes and skiing, another sport in which he excels, regularly placing among the top 3 in Nova Scotia Provincial High School Competitions.
Austin would like to thank GoLo Racing, Dua Motorsports and everyone else who helped make this partnership possible. Austin will be at the Moncton Motorcycle and ATV show February 10th-12th, 2012 as well as the Halifax International Motorcycle Show February 17th-19th, 2012.
